Over the last couple of years, Blockchain-as-a-Service (BaaS) has been a major offering of many tech giants including IBM, Microsoft, Oracle, HP, and SAP. Amazon Web Services, the cloud services platform of Amazon is not far behind when it comes to Blockchain offerings. AWS has been very active in this space, and has introduced several cloud-based blockchain solutions to its users. It was in mid-April 2018 Amazon introduced AWS Blockchain Templates for Ethereum and Hyperledger Fabric frameworks. This week, Amazon announced that it has completed the implementation successfully, and is launching a 1-Click Blockchain Technology that allows users to easily deploy secure blockchain networks on AWS using the popular open-source frameworks (Ethereum and Hyperledger Fabric).
AWS Blockchain Templates presents easy-to-set-up templates that allows you to focus on developing your blockchain application instead of spending your time and effort on manually setting up the blockchain network. It is ideal for organizations that wish to create decentralized applications without incurring a huge cost or consuming a long time. Users can now leverage the templates to set up the network quickly, without paying for the templates. You need to pay only for the resources required for running the blockchain network. The AWS Blockchain templates has been specifically designed for networks that work on Amazon EC2 or Amazon ECS.
Noting down the benefits, Amazon states that the AWS Blockchain templates can be deployed quickly, allows user to choose from the two popular open source frameworks, offers additional components to manage, monitor, and browse your blockchains, and operates on a PAY-AS-YOU-GO model.
Current AWS users as well as the blockchain-startups can directly benefit from the AWS templates. Enterprises can set up blockchain instantly and build DAPPS (Decentralized Applications) using the two options – Ethereum or Hyperledger fabric. While Ethereum is a great choice for applications on public networks, Hyperledger is recommended for building a private network or implementing role-based permissions.
